FAQs

CAN WE HELP YOU FURTHER?

STILL HAVE QUESTIONS?

We have addressed our most common questions here, but understand you may have more queries.

If you have questions other than the ones listed here, please contact us for guidance and assistance. We are here to help you decide which course is best for you.

What does the course consist of?

Our hands-on courses are part theory – part practical.

Beginning inside, Brett will lead you through the theory in a relaxed fashion with questions encouraged and answered with great enthusiasm.  You will be given a handout to follow the presentation given.

Following a break for tea/coffee with cake and biscuits, the bee suits are put on and the party ventures outside to explore the beehives.  This gives a great opportunity for inexperienced beekeepers to become familiar with handling bees and for the more experienced beekeeper to explore new ideas.

Who is the presenter?

Courses are presented by Brett Heather.  Brett works within the agricultural industry and has over 20 years of beekeeping under his belt.

What do I need to bring to the course?

We ask you to bring a smile, lots of questions and a bee-suit if you have one.  Bee-suits can be borrowed on request.  Also, please bring suitable covered footwear that the bees can’t get into.  We will supply gloves and tools.

Where are the courses run?

The courses are run on a 5-acre property in the Kelmscott foothills.  The address is released prior to the course date, following the purchase of a ticket.

How long are the courses?

Courses are 4h long but may run over time if you are having lots of fun.

How many are on the courses?

Attendee numbers are restricted to 8 whilst COVID regulations are in place to allow for social distancing or 12 once COVID regulations are relaxed.

What is your cancellation policy?

A full refund can be given up to 48 hours prior to the course date and up to the course date if you are unable to attend due to illness.
